The following email was received from a senior manager at the FBI in 2005. He was among the first of 410 FBI staff members who have taken TheCourse through the end of 2009:
"By my count, the FBI in West Virginia has already certified 35 new PMPs -- including me. I expect the number will reach 40 by the end of October. I want to thank you for your efforts in our behalf. The course and your personal contributions certainly made a difference. Project development in the FBI and ultimately National Security will be measurably improved because of your commitment and hard work."
We do just one thing, and we do it well. We develop, maintain and conduct TheCourse, which teaches the core competencies of project management while preparing project managers to pass the PMP® certification exam. TheCourse is by far the most cost-effective PMP prep course available. (See our note about PEC/Avaya.) Our first class was conducted at University of Maryland in the fall of 2002, and this page was prepared seven years later. The author of TheCourse personally conducts classes and collects feedback from thousands of students, including debriefings following their PMP examinations. We also have conducted dialog with Project Management Institute regarding the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, resulting in revisions in both 3rd and 4th editions.

An interesting note regarding PEC/Avaya.
Upon awarding our first contract with PEC Solutions (now Avaya) in 2004, the HR Director said to me "If you have friends at ESI, please don't tell them about this. They worked long and hard to get our business." PEC made the decision in our favor due to (1) the recommendations of two PEC staff members who had taken TheCourse in open enrollment classes, and (2) our pricing. From 2004 through 2009, we conducted 10 classes for PEC/Nortel, attended by a total of 281 students. |
