Options:

1. Timed vs. Untimed:

If timed, set time in minutes, up to 240 = 4 hours = length of PMP examination. You will not see citations while taking the test, but will have opportunity to do so after you finish.

If untimed, select whether you want to see the answers and citations after each incorrect answer and/or after each correct answer.

For either timed or untimed, set the number of questions or choose All for a selected category, type or lot.

2. Categories:

If All, questions will be proportioned among the five process groups and professional responsibilities in the same ratios as the PMP examination. If there are not enough questions in any one or more of the six groups, the total number of questions will be reduced accordingly.

If Category, the choice depends on the question set:

If Segments question set, the Segments will be listed in the category list. Choose one.

If Sample or TheTest question set, the five process groups and professional responsibility will be listed in the category list. Choose one.

If Type, choose among the options in the Type list. At present, the choices are:

Critical path method questions,
Formula questions and
PMBOK Third Edition questions.

If Lots, the entire set of questions is segmented into lots of 50. This option allows you to see every question in the set. Choose one of the lots, with number of questions set to All.

3. While taking the test:

a. Use 1024 X whatever resolution or higher. Otherwise – for one thing – the identification of the questions will not appear.

b. Watch for questions with images. Use the 'Show Graphic' button at the bottom.

c. Mark your answer in one of the four radio buttons along the bottom or the screen.

d. Mark the 'Review' checkbox if you are not sure of the answer and want the option to return to it.

e. For timed tests, there will be a clock running in the top right corner of the screen.

f. Use the GoTo button at any time to see the status of all questions.

4. When you are finished, use the Score Test button to show your score by subject, then use the GoTo button to see exactly which questions you got right or wrong.

5. We welcome challenges to questions and answers. Make note of the question number at the top of the screen, and send your comments to norris@TheCourse.us with 'Question ID XXXX.' in the comments line. (When you begin a test, questions are retrieved in random sequence. The number at the bottom only tells your progress through the test - it does not identify the question.) If you should find duplicate questions, please report that as well. Tell us about situations in your experience that might be a foundation for situational questions. We will assign credit if we use them.
